The Only Concert of Mark Grauden in Almaty

On 28 May, La Boheme Theatre will host a truly unique event - the only concert in Almaty by Mark Grauden!

Mark Grauden is an American composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his emotionally powerful performances and collaborations with musicians from a wide array of cultures-from India to Russia.

In this concert, Mark will perform songs on banjo, accordion, and play ethnic flutes and jaw harp (vargan). Drawing inspiration from American folk music and the spiritual traditions of world cultures, he freely experiments with genres to create rich, deeply original soundscapes. His performances are heartfelt, soulful, and profoundly human-inviting the audience into a shared musical space of inspired co-creation.

This Almaty concert is doubly special! Mark will be joined on stage by artists from the international concert «Beyond Borders», dedicated to traditional vargan music, taking place two days later at the same venue. The evening will feature pieces from collaborative projects as well as live improvisations.
