The Odyssey of a Middle-Aged Man is a new programme by Alexander Bessonov, a master of short prose from Novosibirsk, author of Charlie, Kinder, and Madame, and winner of the «Besprintsypnye Chteniya» festival with his story The Count of Monte Cristo.

In this performance, the author uses comedy and humour (and yes a few tears, too) to speak about what men usually keep silent about the midlife crisis.

It’s a rare opportunity to learn not only what men talk about, but also what they truly feel. Honest, poignant, and touching about male crisis, love, fatherhood, and the search for meaning.

Bessonov’s heartfelt stories, filled with warmth and gentle irony, are read on stage by Katerina Shpitsa, Pavel Derevyanko, Maksim Matveyev, and other residents of the «Besprintsypnye Chteniya» project.

His book Madame became one of the bestsellers of 2023, with over 20,000 copies sold.
