Zhanat is a respected villager and entrepreneur who has spent his whole life in his hometown, caring for his parents and becoming the pillar of his family. Even in his forties, he remains unmarried, having devoted himself entirely to duty, land, and tradition. Yet loneliness and a sudden, grave illness slowly consume him from within. Aware that his time is running out, he decides to rescue his only brother Arkhat and Arkhat’s wife, Altynai, from the debts and criminal ties of the city, insisting on moving them to the village. But instead of reconciliation, tension between the brothers only grows stronger. Arkhat sees his elder brother’s excessive care as humiliation and refuses to submit. Caught between the two, Altynai is just beginning to chart the course of her own life when an unexpected tragedy strikes.
