Pannochka
The play was written by Nina Sadur based on the story «Viy» by Nikolai Gogol. The author combined the essence of Gogol's mystical reflections on the nature of love and faith with her own views of a modern woman on what love is and its place in life. As a force of nature, as an element of female feeling, as the expectation of something unusual - Pannochka is silent but omnipresent.
Behind the jokes of the farm Cossacks at feasts and the jokes of the protagonist, Khoma Brutus, a scholarly man from the Kiev bursa, which are not only funny but also frightening, there is a deep philosophical understanding and answers to many questions that concern us about life and the existence of the beyond, about good and evil, and, of course, about love between a man and a woman, the thirst for knowledge and the eternal expectation of miracles.
