How important it is to be serious
English farce in 2 acts
The production based on the play by Oscar Wilde, the famous English writer - «the prince of paradoxes» and «the king of English humour» - embodies a graceful blend of puns, absurdity and masses of lazy grace. The play was conceived as a kind of amusing trifle with many ridiculous coincidences and witty lines, embellished with superficial humour and incredible wordplay.
The play is about human conventions painted in the usual glossy colours - a farcical and grotesque world with its sparkling humour, inimitable English flavour and open mockery of social mores that have not changed in a hundred and fifty years. And the main question - how not to lose, betting on the stock exchange of fate?
