The ballet Sultan Beybars is a stunning, emotionally charged story of an extraordinary rise to fame and power - a journey that inevitably demands sacrifice in the name of higher ideals.
The life of Sultan Beybars is as astonishing as it is complex. Born in the steppes of Desht-i-Kipchak, he rose from slavery as a Mamluk warrior to become the ruler of the most powerful state in the Middle East in the 13th century. Beybars earned the names Abul-Futuh («Father of Victories») and Rukn ad-Din («Pillar of Faith»). He forever entered world history as a brilliant military leader who shattered the myth of Mongol invincibility.
Although numerous legends surround his life, all agree on one thing: Beybars carried a deep and nostalgic love for his ancestral Kipchak homeland throughout his life.
Spectacular crowd scenes, opulent costumes, and imaginative mystical elements blend together to create a truly surreal and immersive stage experience.
