On 7 June, the Chamber Hall of the theatre will host the concert “Virtuoso Violin”, featuring the renowned Bulgarian violinist Pavel Minev and the Astana Opera Chamber Orchestra, conducted by People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Abzal Mukhitdin.
Pavel Minev graduated with honours from the Moscow State Conservatory and completed his postgraduate studies under the guidance of Professor Irina Bochkova, People’s Artist of Russia. He is a first-prize winner of prestigious international competitions in Italy, Russia, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, as well as the Henryk Wieniawski International Festival in Poland.
He has performed with the world’s most renowned orchestras and musicians in prestigious concert halls, including the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia at Columbia Artists Management Hall, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Russian Television and Radio Orchestra at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, as well as at Berlin Philharmonic Hall and the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
His CD recordings have been released in the USA, Europe and Russia, and his performances have been broadcast on Russia’s Kultura TV channel (VGTRK). In 2023, to mark the opening of the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the Moscow Conservatory released an album featuring his recordings. The same year, the British label Hyperion Records began releasing a collection of violin concertos performed by Pavel Minev.
In 2018, for his significant contribution to culture, he was awarded by the Minister of Culture of Russia and received a Presidential Grant as one of Russia’s 10 outstanding cultural figures.
He has also been honoured with commemorative medals and an honorary diploma from the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture for his artistic achievements.
Pavel Minev is listed among the Great Artists-Musical World’s top artists.
