Bach, Shostakovich, Kazhgaliyev: Three Faces of Music in One Concert
The West Kazakhstan Regional Chamber Orchestra invites all admirers of fine music to a concert where the destinies and eras of three great composers intertwine. The programme is built as a powerful dialogue between West and East, past and present.
Programme:
Johann Sebastian Bach - the genius of the Baroque era, whose music embodies purity, harmony, and spiritual depth.
Dmitri Shostakovich - the voice of the anxious twentieth century. His chamber orchestra works are full of sharp rhythm, irony, and piercing lyricism, reflecting the complexity of his time.
Tles Kazhgaliyev - a vivid representative of the modern Kazakh school of composition. His works, inspired by folk melodies, fill the listener’s imagination with vibrant colours and carry them across the vast steppes of Kazakhstan.
The concert will be conducted by Nikita Govorov, who masterfully bridges these distinct musical worlds into one harmonious whole.
This evening offers a rare opportunity to witness how classical tradition, refracted through the lens of the twentieth century, finds a new voice in the music of today.
Date and venue: 22 November, 18:00, Chamber Hall of the Regional Philharmonic
