Petya and the Wolf

The Philharmonic continues to delight its young audience.

On April 5, in the Chamber Hall of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic (29 Abai Ave), young listeners are invited to experience Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonic fairy tale «Petya and the Wolf». The performance begins at 12:00 PM.

When composing this tale, Sergei Prokofiev aimed to introduce children to the world of symphonic music and familiarize them with the instruments of the symphony orchestra in a captivating and playful format.

Each character in the story is represented by a unique musical theme performed by a specific instrument.

Petya, the main character, is accompanied by the string instruments - violins.

The grumbling grandfather is portrayed by the bassoon.

The fearsome wolf is played by three French horns.

The bird is represented by the flute,

The duck - by the oboe,

The cat - by the clarinet.

The hunters are portrayed by the full orchestra, while the gunshots are played by timpani and bass drum.

We invite young listeners to step into the magical world of music and discover its richness and beauty!
