Suitcase for the sea

The Siberian Cat-Traveller once again invites friends and dreamers in Almaty - those who love to imagine and discover new horizons - to a special meeting. Together with Olga Astanina, the Cat presents «A Suitcase for the Sea» - a play after which you will want to pack your things and rush off on holiday. At least, that’s what many spectators of the «2+KU» Theatre have said.

If unfulfilled dreams are stored for too long in a suitcase on the attic shelf, moths may eat them away. But sometimes, in rare cases, a Cat might settle inside that suitcase - one that saves the most cherished dream from being devoured and helps to find the key to making it come true.

The Theatre of Living Puppets «2+KU» is a space where wrist-puppets are created, live, and perform. These are a unique type of puppets invented by Vladimir Zakharov. Today’s puppets possess a full mechanics of animation: their eyes, mouths, and tiny fingers all move. How does it happen? Of course - magic. Yet one cannot help but notice that the puppeteer engages every possible movement of the wrist and hand.
