As part of its touring performances in Astana and Almaty, Touring K-Arts presents a concert of Korean traditional art “Music, Dance, and Songs of Korea”. The programme features winners of the national competition “Onnara” in traditional music and dance, organised by the National Gugak Center.

The concert programme includes eight works: ajaeng sanjo, pansori, gagok, folk songs, chamber music, as well as contemporary compositions. The Kazakhstani audience will have a chance to experience the true richness of Korean traditional art and its unique emotional atmosphere, especially in works such as the “Arirang” Suite.

The performance of 11 outstanding masters will be a vivid demonstration of the blend of tradition and artistic excellence represented by K-Arts. This concert offers audiences a rare opportunity to witness Korean traditional art, which lies at the foundation of the global phenomenon known as the Korean Wave – Hallyu.

Ajaeng Sanjo (solo instrumental piece for ajaeng)

Pansori “Sugungga” – excerpt “Song of Medicines” (traditional Korean musical tale)

Gagok “Kyomencho Onron” (classical vocal music genre)

Folk songs “Miryang Arirang” and “Chajin Panorae”

Cheonnyeon Manse “A Thousand Years of Prosperity” (traditional chamber music)

Dance “Janghanga” (lyrical traditional dance)

“Frontier” (contemporary Korean musical crossover)

“Arirang” (famous Korean folk song)
