The Gala Opera is not just a concert but a grand celebration of opera art. You will hear how the traditions of bel canto come to life in the voice of world opera star Albina Shagimuratova and her talented friends.

Albina Shagimuratova – Honoured Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Gabdulla Tukay, winner of international competitions, including the 1st prize and gold medal of the 13th International Competition named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (Moscow, 2007).

She has been successful on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the German Opera in Berlin, the San Francisco Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, and other major European and American opera houses and concert halls. She has performed as a guest soloist at prestigious international festivals such as Salzburg, Glyndebourne, Edinburgh and the BBC Proms.

The concert programme features scenes, arias and duets from operas by Russian and Western European composers, performed by artists invited by Albina Shagimuratova, as well as soloists and the symphony orchestra of the Astana Opera House. Conductor – Yerbolat Akhmedyarov, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan.
