«Mangі El» Holiday Concert and Premiere of the Choreographic Miniature «Qarlygash» in ASTANA BALLET

The holiday concert «Mangі El», dedicated to Republic Day, will feature a constellation of choreographic miniatures that embody the invaluable richness and diversity of national stage dance, inseparably connected to the history and culture of the Kazakh people. Thanks to the mastery of the performers and the imagination of the choreographers, the stage presents a vibrant, colorful, and varied folk-stage dance - a unique encyclopedia of the people’s life, reflecting their aspirations, wisdom, and resilience.

For the first time, audiences will see the choreographic miniature «Qarlygash». Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Aigul Tati created the composition «The Bird of Happiness - Qarlygash», filled with the warmth of spring, boundless tenderness, and soft radiant light, set to the music of People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Akhmet Zhubanov. In Kazakh culture, the swallow symbolizes happiness, comfort, and spring. Every girl dreams of the happiness that the swallow represents. Leaving her native home, she imagines how she will build her nest and become the keeper of family traditions. Qarlygash is a story of dreams and the pursuit of happiness, skillfully told through the language of movement. The costumes for this choreographic miniature were designed by Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan Muslim Zhumagaliev.
