«Pure Love» – Mukhtar Auezov Theatre on Tour in Yesik

Bürkit was expelled from school as «the son of a rich man», his name dragged through the newspapers, his father thrown into prison, and his beloved taken away by another. Why must a love as pristine as freshly fallen snow be shaken by life’s storms? Based on the classic of Kazakh literature Möldir Mahabbat (Pure Love), this stage production tells the story of Bürkit and Bätes, who once swore to be together forever and, through the plight of the downtrodden, reveals the trials of our nation’s turbulent past.
