ORTEKE

Orteke is an ancient form of Kazakh puppet art, where a small wooden goat figure comes to life and dances to the rhythm of the dombra.

In the performance of the same name by the State Puppet Theatre of Almaty, the legendary sal-seri (wandering artists) invite the audience on a captivating journey through folk tales, where music and storytelling intertwine with the unique mastery of Orteke.

The live sound of the domybra, kobyz, sybyzgy and other traditional instruments fills the space with warmth and enchantment, turning the audience into participants in this magical celebration of national art.
