«Baba Chanel» - Touring in Almaty

Seven singers from the amateur Russian folk-song ensemble «Naitie» gather around a festive table to celebrate their group’s anniversary. Ten years of life and music - so much has been lived through and sung, enough to remember and to plan for what’s ahead. But everything is threatened by the sudden arrival of Baba Chanel, who wants to become the ensemble’s one and only lead singer.

The young director Sergey faces a choice: stay with his old ladies - or leave them behind and rush toward new horizons.

Despite the comic premise, the performance is filled with humanity, warmth, and kindness.
