Baktygul. Premiere!

The production is based on M. Auezov’s novella Karash-Karash.

Baktygul tells the tragic story of a man who, after the death of his younger brother Tektigul, seeks vengeance against Salmen, a wealthy oppressor, and Zharasbay, the local ruler who exploited his honest labour.

The play sheds light on the shadowed facets of society filled with contradictions and conflicts, portraying greed and strife, the ruthless oppression of ordinary people, and the fate of a man driven into a corner with no escape.
