“The density of the cello’s timbre is best suited for conveying longing and agonising impatience… The cello delays sound, no matter how much it hurries. Ask Brahms – he knew it. Ask Dante – he heard it.”
— Osip Mandelstam
At the “CELLO Drive” concert, the cello ensemble Viva Celli presents a brand-new programme. The ensemble’s artistic director, Daulet Shakirov, serves as the arranger, having adapted operatic classics for chamber performance.
The cello, with its wide expressive range and finely developed technique, is used as a solo, ensemble and orchestral instrument.
The ensemble consists of winners of international competitions – musicians who actively perform both as members of the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra and in solo and chamber settings.
In “CELLO Drive”, the musicians will perform works ranging from Baroque classics to contemporary cello arrangements by Kazakhstani composers.
This evening promises to be a true celebration for lovers of classical music. Don’t miss the opportunity to discover the unique world of inspired creativity and the virtuosity of ensemble performance!
