About the performance:
Dark Room tells the story of a difficult coming of age without parents or close family, but with chat roulette, dating apps, and SoundCloud instead. Loss of identity, modern loneliness, violence, digital anonymity, addiction, the search for love, and work in the webcam industry are all part of the reality the main character faces.

Dark Room is a play by Belarusian playwright tester98, written against the backdrop of the 2020»2021 protests in Belarus. It is an attempt to construct a new model of life - one that has turned into an endless rave. In this space, pain and joy dissolve, borders between bodies and countries disappear, moral taboos fade, and political news merges with personal experience. It is a new way of existing.

«…a powerful sense of drama, organic acting, documentary texture, collage structure, agent-based multimedia scenography, a shift toward performance, rave and queer culture… I entered the dark room and everyone inside was familiar…»

«The performance is not intended for a conservative audience, and even its starting time became a kind of signal to attract attention. Indeed, the audience of DARK ROOM did not resemble the usual theater crowd, even that of contemporary theater.»
