At first glance, everything seems simple: a woman and child are in the hospital, while the man, left alone at home, faces the everyday realities of domestic life. A cluttered apartment in need of cleaning. A phone call gently reminding him: «We miss home-cooked meals.» For the first time, a man takes on the seemingly ordinary tasks of home care - an experience that sparks a quiet rethinking of gender roles within the family.

This is a story of confronting the stereotypes society imposes - of challenging the idea of what it means to be a «real man». A reflection on identity, care, and change, brought to life on stage. This performance was created as part of the aLqa project - an initiative focused on reimagining artistic and cultural values within Kazakhstan’s theatre scene. aLqa unites theatre artists and academics to promote creative freedom, democratic ideals, and the development of new aesthetic conventions. Within the project, selected participants attended courses in playwriting and directing. Five playwrights wrote original plays, each of which was staged by a director. The playwriting course was led by Ännas Bağdat, and the directing course by acclaimed actor, director, and theatre educator Kuba Adilov.
