A LOVING HEART
Dear residents of Pavlodar and guests of our city,
The Isa Baizakov Pavlodar Regional Philharmonic warmly invites you to «A Loving Heart», a music-and-poetry evening dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Mukagali Makataev. Expect an intimate, welcoming atmosphere and a captivating journey into a world of verse and melody, filled with lyricism, romance, and genuine emotion.
This year, Kazakhstan celebrates the anniversary of one of its most luminous literary voices, an artist whose legacy is marked by clarity of thought, striking expressiveness, and profound love for people. Makataev’s poetry is a confession that speaks to everyone. His lines seem to turn into music effortlessly, because they are born of living feelings and the nation’s memory. Many romantic songs written to Makataev’s poems have become a treasured part of the philharmonic’s repertoire, performed as solos and duets, by the a cappella choir, and with live accompaniment from instrumental ensembles.
In honor of the poet’s jubilee, the philharmonic soloists, together with a new generation of gifted theatre artists, have prepared a vivid and heartfelt program built around Makataev’s finest works.
«Makataev wrote about what touches everyone: love and loss, loneliness and hope, the Motherland and the mother, a child’s duty and the trials of time. His poetry is never lofty or arrogant, if anything, it feels like a quiet whisper that somehow lands straight in the heart. He is remembered as a poet who spoke on behalf of ordinary people, without pathos, yet with piercing sincerity and pain. He renewed the Kazakh poetic language, making it modern and musical while remaining deeply humane», the philharmonic notes.
Throughout the evening, the audience will be delighted by celebrated performers appearing one after another: Honoured Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan Serik Rysbek, and laureates of international and national competitions Zhibek Aitbayeva, Natalia Protskaya, Zhanbolat Baisoltan, Madiyar Bakhtiyarov, Sholpan Akylbek, Bauyrzhan Akhmetov, Nauryz Koshen, baritones Almas Mukatai, Aibar Ashkeev, Vladislav Galaktionov, as well as the male quintet «SAMIYAN». For their beloved listeners, they will perform lyrical favourites such as «Men dep oila», «Esinge meni algaishyn», «Men seni sagynganda» and more.
