«And All About… Lear» Tour of the German Theatre in Karaganda

Imagine that King Lear is not a Shakespearean tragic figure, but an ordinary man who has found himself in a hospice. Around him there are no longer thrones, palaces, or armies-only a doctor, the orderlies, and the shadows of his past. Lear wanders through the labyrinths of memory, where old grievances merge with the present, turning each passing day into a drama filled with inner monologues. The witness to it all is the doctor, who relives Lear’s past alongside him and becomes his guide on the final journey. «Lear» is not only a rethinking of Shakespeare’s classic, but also an intimate reflection on how the human spirit struggles to remain itself until the very last breath. On stage, just two actors unfold a story familiar to all, yet presented in a profoundly new light.
