Revolt of the Daughters-in-Law (Kelinder Koterilisi)

The comedy Revolt of the Daughters-in-Law unfolds in the city of Tashkent. Farmon, an elderly woman, marries off her seven sons and keeps all their wives under one roof. Unable to endure her harshness, the youngest daughter-in-law, Nigora, calls upon her sisters-in-law to rebel. Realizing she may have gone too far, Farmon eventually allows her sons to live separately. Yet, in the end, they all come to understand that no place is warmer than a mother’s heart.
