Why do marital happiness, mutual understanding and love between two people begin to fade over time?

If all humans were alike, if we all viewed life from a single angle, what joy would there be in living?

In that case, we would all soon grow weary of this world. The essence of life lies in its light and shadow, in its contrasts of black and white, in both its joy and sorrow.

If we walk this path together, sharing its warmth and cold, its ease and hardship, why can’t we continue living side by side? And if we are destined to part in the end, then why do we meet at all?
