Symphony Orchestra Concert «New Year Symphony»
Dear residents of Pavlodar and guests of our city!
The Isa Bayzakov Regional Philharmonic warmly invites you to the symphony orchestra concert
«NEW YEAR SYMPHONY.»
On the eve of the most magical celebration of the year, the Pavlodar Regional Philharmonic presents an elegant musical evening filled with wonder, gentle nostalgia, and the anticipation of happiness. New Year Symphony is a refined concert that captures the spirit of the season through music, light, and emotion.
At the conductor’s podium is Dias Ussenov, whose subtle sense of style and form brings transparency, festive brilliance, and emotional depth to every piece performed.
The evening opens with a timeless winter fairytale by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - selected pages from The Nutcracker, a work that has long become a musical symbol of the New Year around the world. This music tells of light overcoming darkness, of fragile dreams becoming reality, and of a childlike belief in miracles that lives within each of us. The spirited March, the crystal Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the whirling Trepak, and the exotic colors of the oriental dances transport listeners into a world of glowing Christmas lights and gentle enchantment.
A special charm to the evening is added by the works of Leroy Anderson, a composer who transformed the symphony orchestra into a source of smiles, light humor, and sincere joy. His music feels woven from New Year details: rushing sleighs, ticking clocks, playful rhythms, graceful dances, and even the sound of a typewriter become part of a festive soundscape. These miniatures have become classics of Christmas programs worldwide, as they embody that precious feeling of awaiting a miracle.
The second part of the concert shines as a tribute to the great Strauss dynasty - father and son, two generations who gifted the world the Viennese waltz as a symbol of celebration, light, and the endless movement of life. Their music sparkles like champagne, filled with joy, effortless flight, and an unwavering belief in happiness. The overture to Die Fledermaus, famous waltzes, brilliant polkas, and virtuosic galops will recreate the atmosphere of old Vienna, with its grand balls, evening lights, and festive anticipation.
The waltzes of Johann Strauss II have accompanied humanity’s brightest moments for over a century, becoming an inseparable musical emblem of the New Year. Within them lives a sense of soaring freedom, hope for renewal, and the joy of a new beginning.
«New Year Symphony» is more than a concert - it is a musical journey through time and memories, where everyone will hear their own New Year: the scent of pine, the shimmer of garlands, the warmth of home, the anticipation of gifts, and a quiet belief that only light lies ahead.
