STEALS IN MIND AND SEIZES THE SOUL

On 18 September 2025 at 7:00 PM, the grand opening of the 18th concert season of the Kazakh Orchestra of the Y. Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic will take place at the National Military-Patriotic Centre of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2 Respublika Avenue). Marking the beginning of a new season, this evening of profound meaning and high artistic merit will be dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Qunanbaiuly - the great poet, thinker, and composer, and a spiritual beacon of Kazakh culture.

Titled «Kúlaktan kirip boidy alar» («Penetrating through the ear, it captures the soul»), the concert will be a musical and spiritual celebration, offering a renewed artistic interpretation of Abai’s legacy. Through his poetry and songs, the audience will be invited to rediscover the timeless wisdom and invaluable contribution of the poet to the national consciousness. This evening is not merely a tribute - it is a living encounter with Abai’s heritage in a contemporary context.

The orchestra’s artistic director and principal conductor is Professor Aitkali Zhaiymov, Honoured Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan and recipient of the «Parasat» Order. The concert will also feature conductor Nurlan Bekenov, a distinguished cultural figure. Solo performances will be given by Asylzat Nugymanova and Nurkanat Tapiev, both laureates of international competitions.

The programme will include songs by Abai Qunanbaiuly, as well as works resonating with the spirit of his creative philosophy, presented in orchestral arrangements. This evening will serve not only as a tribute to memory, but also as a heartfelt opportunity to experience the immortal legacy of a great thinker.
