Kuy Anasy – Dina

On January 31, the Chamber Hall of the Erke Gali Rakhmatiev State Academic Philharmonic will host a festive concert entitled «Kuy Anasy Dina», dedicated to the birthday of the great composer Dina Nurpeisova. The evening will feature works reflecting the life and work of this outstanding dombra player, as well as paying tribute to her musical legacy. The concert will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Dina Nurpeisova, the mother of Kazakh kuy (1861-1955), was a great composer of the Kazakh people, a master of the dombra art, and a talented student of Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev. With her unique performing skills and creativity, Dina took Kazakh dombra art to a new level. She was given the title of «mother of kuy» and inspired the people with her works, warming their souls and filling their hearts with warmth.

Her kuy «Toibastar», «Bulbul», «Asemkonyr», «16-zhyl», «Zhenis», and others have become gems of national culture. Dina Nurpeisova's works are imbued with deep thoughts and subtle feelings, reflecting the history, spirit, and identity of the Kazakh people.

This evening, the famous kuy of Dina Nurpeisova and her teacher Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev will be performed. The Kazakh orchestra will perform such works as «Asemqonyr», «Bulbul», «Nauyisky», «Toibastar», «Kairan Shechem», «Saryarka», and others, inviting the audience into the amazing world of Kazakh kuy.
