«#LorcaWedding» – A Trivial Banquet
A groom, a bride, a toastmaster, guests, a lavish table, and a fashionable venue - everything is set for a cheerful wedding celebration. Yet not everyone is rejoicing. The bride’s former lover suddenly decides to reclaim what he once lost, while the bride herself begins to doubt whether her choice was the right one. The old feud between the two families lingers in the air, threatening to flare up once again. And somewhere among the guests walks Death - someone has invited her to this feast.
In this interpretation of Lorca’s classic, the play becomes a reflection on how easily the thin veneer of civilisation and culture slips away, revealing the primal instincts hidden beneath. It also explores how people, often without realising it, treat even their dearest ones as means to fulfil their own unspoken, subconscious desires - seeking healing at the expense of their hidden wounds.
