On October 26 at 7:00 PM, the stage of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiev State Academic Philharmonic Hall will come alive with the timeless masterpieces of Italian composers Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone, performed by a symphony orchestra under the baton of the legendary Marcelo Rota - the direct nephew of the great Nino Rota himself.

This concert features works that long ago became more than just film scores - they are eternal musical treasures.

The «Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone» concert is a tribute to two of the greatest composers in cinematic history.

Nino Rota is a name almost everyone knows - or at the very least, a sound everyone has heard. Even if you don’t recognize his name, his melodies are instantly familiar. The Milan-born genius is a recipient of the most prestigious awards in the world: the Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy.

His music is inseparable from the films of great directors like Federico Fellini and Luchino Visconti, with his scores for «The Godfather» I & II by Francis Ford Coppola being among the most iconic. His works radiate soulfulness, sophistication, Italian passion, grandeur, and timelessness.

Ennio Morricone, composer of over a hundred film scores, brought unforgettable music to Sergio Leone’s westerns and many other legendary films. He is the winner of several Oscars (including an honorary one for lifetime achievement), Golden Globes, and numerous international accolades.

The programme will include immortal classics from films such as: «Romeo and Juliet,» «La Strada,» «The Godfather,» «The Professional,» «The Mission,» «Nights of Cabiria,» «The Legend of 1900,» «Once Upon a Time in America,» «The Good, the Bad and the Ugly», and more.

Preserving the unique spirit and signature style of the originals, the masterpieces of these musical legends will be brought to life by a symphony orchestra led by maestro Marcelo Rota.
