The Master and Margarita
The story begins on a warm May day, when two Moscow writers - Mikhail Alexandrovich Berlioz, the chairman of MASSOLIT, and the poet Ivan Bezdomny - take a walk near Patriarch’s Ponds. There, they encounter a mysterious stranger who looks like a foreigner.
The stranger joins their conversation about Jesus Christ, tells them about his time on the balcony of Pontius Pilate, the Procurator of Judea, and predicts that Berlioz will be decapitated by «a Russian woman, a Komsomol member».
The writers have no idea that the man before them is Woland - the Devil himself, who has arrived in the Soviet capital with his entourage: Fagot-Koroviev, Azazello, the cat Behemoth, and the maid Hella…
