Musical Contrasts
The Astana Opera Chamber Orchestra and its soloists present the second concert in the “Musical Contrasts” series, dedicated to music by 20th-century composers. The programme includes works by classical composers of the past century, as well as Kazakhstani authors.
To recall, the first concert in the cycle featured works by Igor Stravinsky (1882–1971), Aaron Copland (1900–1990), Arvo Pärt (b. 1935), as well as César Franck (1822–1890) and Eugene Magalif (b. 1957).
Project Author and Conductor – Ruslan BAIMURZIN, Holder of the Order of Kurmet.
The evening’s programme will include compositions by renowned 20th-century composers (C. Debussy, S. Prokofiev, T. Kazhgaliyev) whose styles, melodic language and philosophical outlooks marked a turning point in musical art. The musical contrasts of the era – from avant-garde experimentation to neo-Romantic lyricism, from sharp rhythmic structures to heartfelt cantilenas – will shape the concert’s dramatic arc.
