The World of Cats

The play’s main characters are a stray cat and a dog abandoned by his owner. Hurt, pain, and disappointment in people push the little friends to search for a magical door that leads to a wondrous land, a place where kind people live, and every animal is fed and happy. On their way to the longed-for door, they encounter Marquise the cat, a gang of troublemakers, and even a great Cat Fairy. In the end, fleeing from pursuit, they end up in a hospital in the room of a sick boy who, like them, feels deeply alone. His kindness and gentle care warm their hardened hearts. And they come to realize that the magical door isn’t far away at all, it lives inside us. All we have to do is open it, and we’ll find ourselves in that wonderland where everyone loves and protects one another.
