«So, What Do You Think of Him?» Premiere!
«So, What Do You Think of Him?» is a vibrant and eccentric comedy exploring generational gaps, love, and the pursuit of happiness. On stage unfolds a lively story about a mother and her grown-up daughter, both searching for «the one», though their ways of doing so couldn’t be more different. The mother, confident in her self-appointed role as matchmaker, introduces her daughter to «reliable» suitors, while the daughter, tired of forced dates, is determined to take control of her own love life, only to find herself in a series of unexpected and hilariously awkward situations.
The play brims with comic twists, secret rendezvous, small domestic intrigues, sudden ambushes, and amusing deductions about men based on their accessories. Amidst unspoken emotions, feminine cunning, and misunderstandings between mother and daughter, deep feelings, hopes, and vulnerabilities of both women gradually come to light. Eventually, the audience realises they are more than just mother and daughter, they are mirror reflections of each other, bound by shared fears and dreams.
The musical score, composed by the talented Danil Khomko and Saği Sarzhan with lyrics by Ekaterina Maksim, adds a unique flavour to the performance, from homely warmth to gentle absurdity, blurring the line between reality and imagination. Filled with humour and tenderness, the play gently reminds us how easy it is to lose oneself in the pursuit of happiness, and invites every viewer to reflect on their own dreams and true desires.
