«In My Poem Lives Life About You»

On 28 October 2025 at 19:00, the Concert Hall of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic will host the concert «In My Poem Lives Life About You», dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Tumanbai Moldagaliyev - People’s Writer and a master of Kazakh poetry.

This evening, uniting literature and music, will present songs written to the poet’s heartfelt and lyrical verses. The programme features works by Kazakh musical classics Nurgisa Tlendiev, Shamshi Kaldayakov, Aktoty Beiseuova, Serik Baiterekov, alongside compositions by the new generation of composers.

The concert will open with Nurgisa Tlendiev’s «Ata Tolgauy», performed by the Kazakh Orchestra and the Shalkyma Folk Dance Ensemble.

Among the participants are celebrated artists: People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Mayra Ilyassova, Honoured Figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan Svetlana Aitbayeva and Araylym Rakhymkyzy, as well as laureates of international competitions Nurkanat Tapiev, Aidyn Zhumabayev, Diana Mai, Akbota Kusnadin, Akimkhan Mazhenov, and other distinguished performers.

The concert programme will include songs set to Tumanbai Moldagaliyev’s poetry: «Änim Sen Eding» (You Were My Song), «Kuwa Bol» (Bear Witness), «Qazdar Qaytyp Barady» (The Geese Are Flying Away), «Qairan Meniñ Zhüregim» (Alas, My Heart), «Ayaulym» (My Beloved), «Eki Zhuldız» (Two Stars), «Zhan Ana» (Dear Mother), «Almaty Tüni» (Almaty Night), and «Shaqyrady Köktëm» (Spring Calls). Beloved by the people, these songs will be presented in new arrangements. Accompanied by the dombra, touching pieces such as «Saryarqa» and «Sagyndym Goi» (I Missed You) will gain a fresh resonance.

Choreographic productions will add vivid colour and grandeur to the evening. Dance numbers by the Shalkyma Ensemble, staged by People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, State Prize laureate Zaurbek Raibayev, will embody the power of poetry and captivate the audience.

The concert promises a harmonious union of poetry and music, reviving the creative legacy of Tumanbai Moldagaliyev. His timeless themes - love, longing for the homeland, reverence for mothers, and devotion to the Fatherland - will resound deeply in the performances of masterful artists.
