Family Album (Kaz)
A touching and heartwarming story based on Angela Nanetti’s «My Grandfather Was a Cherry Tree» comes to life in the theatre production Family Album. At its heart is Grandfather Ottaviano - the kind of grandpa every child dreams of. He opens his grandson Tonino’s eyes to the beauty of the world, teaching him to love nature, value hard work, and cherish what truly matters.
The play gently explores the connection between generations - grandparents, parents, and children - and reminds us of the deep importance of family in every person’s life. It also touches on bureaucratic obstacles that, surprisingly, can turn the course of a human life.
In a pivotal moment, Grandfather Ottaviano stands alone against an entire system to save a cherry tree - and the entire cherry orchard.
Beside him is his grandson, continuing and supporting his cause, fighting for the protection of nature on Earth.
Years have passed since then, but every spring, the cherry orchard still blossoms - a symbol of resilience, love, and quiet beauty.
