Set in Paris, this is a story about a poor artist. Monsieur Blaise rents an apartment in order to carry out a scheme with his lady: he plans to marry the daughter of a wealthy businessman purely for money. But things do not go according to plan, and Blaise tries to wriggle out of one tangled situation after another, until he suddenly realises that only true love is the one and absolute value in life.
