The birth of a child is a sacred, incomparable gift bestowed upon women by the Creator. The play tells the stories of women whose lives and destinies intersect within the walls of a maternity ward, each with her own truth, her own pain, and her own dreams.
Among them are a 14-year-old girl, a woman desperate to bear a son for her husband, another who schemes to give birth to a rich man’s child in hopes of breaking up his family, and a successful career woman who has climbed the ranks of power.
Why do women come to the maternity ward? What truly drives them? Do they genuinely long to bring a child into the world with all their heart or is the baby merely a means to achieve selfish desires? The play seeks to uncover the answers to these questions, reflecting on the complexity of womanhood, motherhood, and the choices that shape a life.
