This is the story of a young boy, Sasha Savelyev, who lives with his grandparents. His childhood is far from peaceful or carefree: Sasha is surrounded by the oppressive love and authoritarian control of his closest relatives. Their home is a real battlefield, where the family wages a cruel and relentless war with itself. What is the cost of a love born in such a way?

«Bury Me Behind the Baseboard» is a poignant monologue about how hard it can be for a child to break through loneliness: to find a way out of the unkind, confusing, and hostile adult world built around him by those meant to protect and love.

The monodrama premiered in Vienna, Austria, on March 17, 2024.
