«The Lonesome West»

A dark eternal comedy.

A family torn apart, where home becomes a battlefield - and your closest kin is your primary target.

The play is based on «The Lonesome West», a darkly comic work by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh.

But as always, BUNKER theatre offers a unique take. First, we’ve abandoned existing translations and present our own version of the original text. Second, we’ve reimagined the story: while the original revolves around two quarrelling brothers, our version introduces Dalen and his sister Orla - who, it must be said, has a few more reasons to kill their father than her prototype, Coleman Connor.

You’ll also meet Gerlin, a beauty desperate to escape the cage of despair, and Father Welsh, who does manage to flee - but the real question is, can such an escape truly be called freedom?
