Mukhtar Auezov Theatre presents the play «My Beloved Angel» at Concordia Student Theatre

Based on the famous play «Pygmalion» by B. Shaw, My Beloved Angel tells the story of how a lifeless, swamp-born sculpture can be transformed into a masterpiece in the hands of a true artist. There are no limits to the power of genuine art. Only art can awaken the human spirit and enrich it with beauty. The play celebrates the idea that even the poorest, uneducated, and downtrodden person can join the ranks of the intellectual elite through perseverance and hard work. It envisions the eradication of inequality between rich and poor. In this light, the transformation of the illiterate flower girl Eliza into an educated lady becomes a powerful symbol of the inevitable changes awaiting the society of the future.
