Dark Alleys

Dark Alleys is one of Ivan Bunin's best works. Towards the end of his life, he came to the main conclusion: if there is anything important and essential, it is love.

The play is based on the story «In Paris» from Bunin's collection Dark Alleys, as well as the novella Mitina Love.

The characters in the play mourn lost love, console themselves with the hope of regaining happiness, and some have only just found their soulmate. The play explores love as passion, as illness, as temptation, as a test, as a reward, and as salvation.

This production is about the power of feelings that can change people and sometimes destroy destinies.
