THE KURMANGAZY KAZAKH NATIONAL ORCHESTRA OF FOLK INSTRUMENTS TO PERFORM IN KOKSHETAU!
On June 10, 2025, the city of Kokshetau will host a performance by a true symbol of Kazakh national art - the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra of Folk Instruments, the very first orchestra in the history of the Kazakh people. Founded in 1934, this distinguished ensemble is a leader in Kazakh professional music and a source of pride for the nation’s cultural heritage.
The orchestra’s rich repertoire includes traditional kyuis, masterpieces of Kazakh and international classical music, folklore, and works by contemporary composers. Over its 90-year history, the orchestra has performed widely across Kazakhstan and abroad, earning the love and admiration of audiences worldwide.
The orchestra’s artistic director is Batyrzhan Myktybayev, an Honoured Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Its principal conductor is Ablai Tlepbergen, a recipient of the State Youth Award «Daryn». Also taking the conductor’s podium is Zheksen Aisyn, Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan. Kokshetau - a region steeped in history, natural beauty, and spiritual tradition - holds special meaning for the orchestra as a site for this celebration of national music.
