«Uzhdan»
Does our Kazakh mock everyone,
Thinking, «I am pure myself indeed»?
Pay attention - where is this crowd heading,
Wandering astray, where does our Kazakh go?
(Sh.Kudaibergenov)
As time flows, humanity's boundless kindness is narrowing, its compassion and conscience are drying up... The scales of morality grow weightless, and the value of human decency diminishes. This is because the essence and richness of existence are slipping away from Uzhdan - the very core of conscience. The great poet Shakarim pondered the fundamental virtues of a true human being: honor, shame, integrity, and dignity. Today, these values are fading, swallowed by the era of globalization. A society devoid of Uzhdan - will it not descend into a beastly existence, lost in degradation? But does humanity even reflect upon this?
