Gunar LETZBOR (Austria) - violin
Gunar Letzbor studied composition, conducting and violin in Linz, Salzburg and Cologne. His encounters with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Reinhard Goebel inspired him to focus on historically informed performance and the interpretation of early music. He has performed with renowned ensembles such as Musica Antiqua Köln, Clemencic Consort (Vienna), La Folia (Salzburg), Armonico Tributo (Basel) and Wiener Akademie (Vienna), often serving as concertmaster.
During numerous tours across Europe, the USA and Japan, Letzbor has achieved great acclaim both as a soloist in violin concertos and in solo recitals. He is the founder of the ensemble Ars Antiqua Austria and a laureate of the prestigious Cannes Classica Award. Letzbor teaches Baroque violin at the conservatories in Lübeck and Vienna. In 2009, he founded and became the artistic director of the International H. I. F. Biber Competition for Young Performers of Baroque Music at St. Florian Monastery (Austria), now one of the most popular early music competitions worldwide.
Sergey CHEREPANOV (Germany) - organ
Sergey Cherepanov is an organist, pianist and harpsichordist based in northern Germany. He combines an active concert and teaching career with his work in the Evangelical Church and with directing a summer festival and organ academy in Bosau (Schleswig-Holstein).
A graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, he studied piano with Yuri Slesarev and Viktor Merzhanov, and organ with Boris Romanov and Natalia Gureeva. After completing postgraduate studies, he continued his training with Martin Haselböck in Lübeck and Vienna, and with Wolfgang Zerer in Hamburg. Cherepanov is a prizewinner of international organ competitions in Germany and South Africa. Since 2002, he has taught organ interpretation and historically informed performance at the Lübeck University of Music. He regularly appears at international organ and early music festivals in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Brussels, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Salzburg, Vienna, Basel, Milan and Tallinn. In 2020, he was awarded a prize for his contribution to the development of musical culture in the Ostholstein region of Germany.
