Exhibition «Painting and graphics by Vyacheslav Liuko»
On 6 May 2025, the A. Kasteyev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan opens the exhibition «Painting and Graphics by Vyacheslav Luy-ko.»
Vyacheslav Luy-ko is one of Kazakhstan’s most acclaimed artists, equally masterful with brush and pencil, known for his distinctive and immediately recognisable style.
His works represent a fusion of classic and contemporary elements, mysticism and philosophy, irony and enigma, allegory and mediaeval farce, as well as chronicles of the present and the past. These are canvases of contemplation, visual parables.
This exhibition is a union of art and philosophy, where the breath of time, eternal questions of existence, and the grandeur of cultural traditions intertwine. Each painting and drawing is not merely a visual object, but a philosophical exploration, where form and content come together in a quest to reveal the world’s inner harmony. In Luy-ko’s art, the depths of human existence are brought to life - our ongoing connection with time, and the multilayered interactions of cultures, peoples, and epochs.
His works go beyond surface representation of reality, immersing the viewer in a realm of reflection, awakening awareness of those elusive yet pressing questions that have stirred humanity for centuries. Through his art, Luy-ko seeks to answer timeless questions about life, time, values, and the meaning of existence, shedding light on the fragile and intricate threads that bind past and future.
«Painting and Graphics by Vyacheslav Luy-ko» is more than an exhibition - it is a journey into a world where art becomes philosophy and philosophy becomes art. It is a rare opportunity to see the world through the eyes of the artist, to experience his inner search, and to discover new paths for understanding life and beauty. Each piece is both a question and an answer, reflecting the endless process of discovery and self-discovery.
The artist writes:
«A ceaseless, turbulent stream of news, knowledge, and information pours forth, making it difficult to distinguish fiction from fact, truth from falsehood.
I have tried to speak to the viewer in the language once used by our ancestors - the language of images, symbols, the alphabet of signs. To speak of what is eternal, and of what may vanish without a trace.»
The exhibition features over eighty paintings and graphic works created over the past three years.
