It all began in 1882, when Italian writer and journalist Carlo Lorenzini, who adopted the pseudonym Collodi, wrote a humorous fairy tale about the adventures of a wooden puppet. He named the puppet Pinocchio. In our country, the version by A. Tolstoy—The Golden Key, or The Adventures of Buratino—is better known. It was adapted for local audiences, reflecting the lifestyle and traditions. However, this tale is equally captivating and, in fact, a completely different work that has fascinated several generations of readers and viewers.
