The Philharmonic continues to delight its young audiences.

On January 10, at the Chamber Hall of the E. Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic
(29 Abay Avenue), young listeners are invited to experience Sergei Prokofiev’s famous symphonic fairy tale «Peter and the Wolf». Start time: 12:00 PM.

When composing this work, Sergei Prokofiev aimed to help children enter the world of symphonic music in an engaging and accessible way, introducing them to the instruments of the orchestra through a captivating story.

Each character in the fairy tale has a unique musical theme performed by a specific instrument. The main character, a brave boy named Peter, helps the hunters catch the wolf feared by all the forest animals.

The musical roles are portrayed as follows:
Peter - string instruments led by violins,
Grandfather - the grumbling bassoon,
The Wolf - three French horns,
The Bird - flute,
The Duck - oboe,
The Cat - clarinet.
The hunters are represented by the full orchestra, while the gunshots are depicted by percussion instruments - timpani and bass drum.

We invite young listeners to discover the magical world of music and explore its richness and beauty.
