1993. A young American girl Lisa comes to an Italian town to restore a XVI century painting covered with a layer of soot.
The more the girl discovers fragments of the image, the more she is tormented by horrifying visions, while at the same time her fellow zoologists, whom Lisa met on the bus, are kidnapped and put in cages near a creepy well.
