From 2 October to 2 December 2025, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will host the international exhibition «Jewellery Code: Data as Wearable Art». This is the first international exhibition of data art and conceptual jewellery in Kazakhstan and is organised as part of the Syldyr project.

The exhibition will feature works by over 60 artists from 28 countries, including Kazakhstan, Germany, Australia, Hungary, the USA, Italy, the Netherlands, Mexico, Senegal, China, Russia, Austria, the United Kingdom, Poland, Georgia, Oman and more.

The artists present conceptual jewellery and material data art — works at the intersection of data art and jewellery design, many of which have been created especially for this exhibition.

In Kazakh culture, jewellery has always held sacred significance, serving as amulets, symbols of power, identity and memory. The Syldyr project curators invite us to reinterpret this tradition: jewellery still carries meaning, but this time it is based on numbers, transformed into weight, texture and form.

"Our project is a search for authenticity through the language of data. In the post-truth era, we believe that statistics can bring the conversation about art and society back to facts and reality. Jewellery becomes a medium for reflection - about oneself, about time, and about the country,' note the exhibition curators.
