May 2020. The pandemic is gaining momentum in the United States. In the quiet provincial town of Eddington, where quarantine has been imposed and mask regulations are in force, a confrontation begins to brew between Sevilla County Sheriff Joe Cross and the town’s mayor, Ted Garcia, who plans to run for re-election and launch a grand project, the construction of a large-scale artificial intelligence data processing centre. Unwilling to accept the plans of the powerful official, Cross decides to challenge him and runs for mayor, unaware of the unpredictable consequences his decision will bring.
